This tablet PC is named as “Akash” and it has been jointly developed by the India with co-operation of Datawind. This tablet PC can easily be purchased in approx Rs. 3000 in India. The Akash Tablet has been developed jointly developed by India along with Britian based Data Wind company.


This tablet PC will run on Google Android 2.2 (Froyo) and has 7” LCD screen. That provides 800x480 resolution. Not only this but the tab also has 256 MB RAM and 32GB expandable memory slot that is also with 2 USB ports. Along with all these facilities Akash tablet is now also available with 12 month replacement warranty. The battery power lasts for 3 hours as this is not liked but according to its price it will be applauded in students circle. By using this tablet PC students can easily download their study material online. Doing this they will be set free from carrying heavy books all the time in their bag. Along with this approx 1000 institutes are connected with Wi-Fi network. With this student can easily avail the service online through internet 24x7. Not only this but Akash is also helpful in providing relaxation to the students after hectic schedule.


This Akash Sakshat Tablet is sold under government-subsidized rate of Rs. 1400 to about 100,000 students studying in college. And for other general buyers this tablet will be available at Rs. 3,000.At present the Datawind is planning to sell the tab in partnership that is also with telecos to provide internet service at Rs. 99 per month.
